Golf
In 1994, the late Michael Moriarty opened the Dunloe Golf
Complex.
It was the culmination of years of hard work and investment
backed by
an extraordinary vision.
At
the heart of the development proposed today
is the enhancement
of the Dunloe Golf Course through a variety
of facility upgrades to 'boutique' standard.
Heritage
The vision behind The Dún Lugh Project is driven by a deep
passion for
the natural and cultural heritage of the area.
In an area of outstanding beauty that is of national and
international importance,
the Project seek to honour this cultural
and natural treasure through
sensitive interpretation. A dedicated heritage and arts centre will
include an auditorium/theatre, interpretive displays and gallery spaces.
Sustainability
Strong environmental ethics and sustainability in all it’s meaning,
form the central ethos of the The Dún Lugh Project. This involves
a commitment to deliver a landmark amenity, with buildings of
passive
house technologies in an overall project that adhers
to ecological best-practices. 'Green' energy technologies will energise
the
facility on a zero-carbon emissions basis.
Life long commitments are underpinning the
project’s overall vision
and it’s benefits to our local and wider
community that will include employment for fifty or so people.

Wellness
A new consciousness of ‘well-being’ is focussing people’s
minds
on health, activity and food. As part of it’s overall holistic vision,
The Dún Lugh Project aims to provide a centre for this culture of ‘wellness’,
providing a space to participate in activity and sport,
to access a wide variety
of health treatments
and therapies, to experience organic wholefoods and to train in a host of
healthy
lifestyles.
Sport & Adventure
In addition to our commitment to the game of golf, the project
aims to provide
first class facilities in a number of other sports, notably archery, tennis,
badminton, squash, football and
equestrian.
In Kerry amidst Ireland’s most dramatic landscapes, visitors and growing
numbers of our local population spend their leisure time
exploring our wilds through walking, climbing, biking, gliding, diving, surfing,
canoeing and more. Cognisant of recreational and tourism
strategies for development in this area, the Project seeks to deliver world
class facilities in a number of adventure sports, notably a state-of-the-art
mountain biking facility and the establishment of
a national indoor climbing centre, a world class, purposefully designed
facility.
