Dingle
& Blasket Island
The Dingle Peninsula or Corca Dhuibhne
was described by the National Geographic once as; probably
the most beautiful plce on Earth! The most northerly of the
sinewy peninsulas of the southwest of Ireland, this wild place
holds a rare energy. Four thousand archaeology sites make it
one of the richest areas of it’s kind in the world, it’s
scenery, language and traditions and it’s people make
it one of Ireland’s favourite places. The Blasket Island
archipelago holds a special place in Ireland’s folk heritage
and makes for one of the classic Atlantc seaboard walks.
Wildlife abounds here; whales, dolphins, seals and sharks while
the sea cliffs of the coastline and islands are home to thousands
of sea birds. The coastal archaeology spans almost ten thousand
years.
